*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)
Gracious God, you have promised to receive us when we come to you. We confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We have not always loved you or our neighbors as we should. And we have not thanked you nor those closest to us. Forgive us, O God, and grant that we may live and serve in newness of life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
(adapted from Book of Worship, United Church of Christ, p. 530)

*KYRIE ELEISON
Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us, Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen

People: We carry within us the promise of God that we are loved.
Leader: That we are forgiven and embraced despite the broken places and broken promises in our past.

SERMON – “HOW DO YOU SAY THANK YOU?” by Amanda Stephany and Rev. McSpadden

RESPONDING TO THE WORD

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried, he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead, he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
