                   hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Leader:   Clap your hands, all peoples!
People:   Shout to God with songs of joy.

*HYMN No. 138                                                                          Holy, Holy, Holy

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION

                  There have been times when we've felt scattered about, disjointed, dried up, all our energy gone.  There have been times when we've been out of joint with your Spirit, God, unable to move, dead, lifeless.  Not trusting in your forgiveness or your power, we trust only in ourselves, and our lives become dry and brittle - forgive us!  Fill us with your Spirit, O God, that we may be transformed.  May what is dead, scattered, and disjointed become alive, like the bones of Ezekiel's vision, that we may be one body in Christ, equipped to be your people in the world.  Amen.

*KYRIE ELEISON

               Lord, have mercy upon us.

               Christ, have mercy upon us.

                Lord, have mercy upon us.  Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE    (Hymn No. 322)

 Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;

             Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

             Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me.

             Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED

            I believe in God the Father Almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth.

            And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

    who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

    born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

    the third day he rose again from the dead;

    he ascended into heaven,

    and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

            I believe in the Holy Ghost;

    the holy catholic church;

    the communion of saints,

    the forgiveness of sins;

    the resurrection of the body;

    and the life everlasting.  Amen
