*HYMN No. 483                                 Sing Praise to God, Who Reigns Above

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)

                  Powerful, Gentle God, you can take desert waste and make it grow into fruitful land.  We need your power to change life.  Our lives are so often full of drudgery.  Often we forget to live thankful lives and we get bogged down in self-pity and blame.  Forgive us for those times of doubt and insecurity and those times of hopelessness.  Empower us, God.  Help us to feel your Spirit changing us each day that our lives may be full and growing in Your love.  Through the Holy Spirit, whose breath sustains us.  Amen.

*KYRIE ELEISON

               Lord, have mercy upon us.

               Christ, have mercy upon us.

                Lord, have mercy upon us.  Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE    (Hymn No. 322)

 Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;

             Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

             Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me.

             Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED

            I believe in God the Father Almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth.

            And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

    who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

    born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

    the third day he rose again from the dead;

    he ascended into heaven,

    and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

            I believe in the Holy Ghost;

    the holy catholic church;

    the communion of saints,

    the forgiveness of sins;

    the resurrection of the body;

    and the life everlasting.  Amen
