CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader:  God is very near to us.
People: We come together to praise God who lives and
               dwells among us.
Leader: Bring your songs and your praises and let the
Spirit of God be here in this place.
People: We praise God with song and voice: with dance
               and laughter, and we greet one another with love.

*HYMN No. 667                                             When Morning Gilds the Skies

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)  Eternal God, from the beginning of time you have called your children into communion with you.  Yet we confess that like all the rest, we have turned to our own way and refused your love and grace – forgive us.  Restore us to the joy of knowing you, and of recognizing your life among us, through Jesus Christ, bringer of your good news.  Amen. *KYRIE ELEISON

         Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy upon us.

Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE   (Hymn No. 288)

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me.

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED

          I believe in God the Father Almighty,

   maker of heaven and earth.

           And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

   who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

   born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

   was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

   the third day he rose again from the dead;

   he ascended into heaven,

   and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

   from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

           I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

   the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;

   the resurrection of the body;

   and the life everlasting. Amen
