*HYMN No. 35 Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)
Gracious God, we humbly confess our faults. For anger, impatience, and quickness to misunderstand – forgive us. For thoughtlessness, indifference, and self-centering -forgive us. For our times of failing to be kind to others -forgive us. For not speaking out against injustice and suffering -forgive us. For all the times we have not followed Jesus in the way of love -forgive, heal, and transform us anew into your servant people. In the name of Christ Jesus we pray. Amen.

*KYRIE ELEISON
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE (Hymn No. 288)
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;
the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen
