CALL TO WORSHIP

Leader: I will praise the Lord all my life.
People:  I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Leader:  Do not put your trust in mortal people who cannot save.
People:  Blessed is the person whose help is the God of  Jacob, whose

              hope is in the Lord.

*HYMN No. 724                                                     O Jesus, I Have Promised

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)  Almighty God, you love us, but we do not love you fully,
You call, but we do not always listen.  We often walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped in our own concerns.  We often condone evil, hatred, warfare, and greed.  God of grace, help us to admit our sin, so that as you move us forward in mercy, we may repent, turn to you, and receive forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Redeemer.  Amen.
 *KYRIE ELEISON

         Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy upon us.

Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE   (Hymn No. 288)

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me.

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

                                 RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED

          I believe in God the Father Almighty,

   maker of heaven and earth.

           And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

   who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

   born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

   was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

   the third day he rose again from the dead;

   he ascended into heaven,

   and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

   from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

           I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

   the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;

   the resurrection of the body;

   and the life everlasting. Amen

This brings us so much closer to paying off the remaining amount of our loan. We were thrilled by the turnout (125) and your ticket selling, basket making and overall enthusiasm for the event. A big thank you to our wonderful volunteer kitchen staff — Jeannie, Mary Ann and Jan, our brave silent auction managers — Dickie and Tommy, and Glenda, Claudia and Janesta for loaning us their china.

With gratitude,

Julie Graham, Betty Broome, Linda Vaughan, Carol Leedy and Julia Willingham
