THE LIFE AND WORK OF THE CHURCH
ENTERING GOD’S HOUSE

QUIET MOMENT OF PREPARATION

CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: The heavens declare the righteousness of God.
People: The earth declares God’s Beauty.
Leader: From the rising of the sun to its setting
People: God’s word shines forth in glory.

*HYMN No. 410 God Is Calling through the Whisper
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)
O Lord of mercy, who resists the proud and receives the humble, we ask for honesty to accept responsibility for our errors and to understand the reasons for our failures. We ask for the courage to make our confessions, to seek your forgiveness for our offenses, to make restitutions where possible, and to extend the same forgiveness to others that you extend to us. Forgive our doubt, and renew our hope, so that we may receive the fullness of your grace, and live in the truth of Christ the Lord. Amen.
*KYRIE ELEISON
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: Hear the best news! Who is in a position to condemn?
People: Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ
reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. We are new
creations in Christ. Our old life has gone: a new life has begun.

Leader: Know that you are forgiven and be at peace. Be kind and
compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as, in
Christ, God forgives you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as
dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ
loved you and gave himself up for you as a perfect offering and
sacrifice to God. Amen.

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE (Hymn No. 288)
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.
