CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Worship the Lord on the throne of holiness.
People: Serve the Lord, high upon the throne!
Leader: Visit the Lord in the stranger, the poor, the naked, the imprisoned, the thirsty, the hungry.
People: Know the Lord, come down to us.
Leader: Give praise to the Holy One.
People: Praise the Lord, mighty in glory!
All: Praise the Lord!

*HYMN No. 133 O Come, All Ye Faithful

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)
Heavenly Father who came to rule the world with truth and grace, we confess that we have gone astray each in our own way. The paths we have chosen have led us into the wilderness where thorns of selfishness and intolerance abound. We want to do what is right and is pleasing in your sight, but we always seem to miss the mark and cause harm to our relationship with you and with our neighbors. Forgive us, Lord and send the one who can make a path out of the wilderness, a highway to our God, namely Jesus Christ. Prepare our hearts to receive him so that his blessings might flow, “far as the curse in found”. We make our prayer in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen
*KYRIE ELEISON
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
Leader: God’s peace be with you.
People: Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one
another.

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE (Hymn No. 288)
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD
*THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;
the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen

It is said that at Christmastime, all roads lead us to the manger in Bethlehem.
With a sense of excitement and wonder,
we prepare for the celebration of the birth of a very special child.
In this wall hanging, all the blocks gather around the manger block,
which causes us to focus on the holy family in the humble stable nursery.
We share with the angels, shepherds, and Magi the adoration of the Christ Child.
