 *HYMN No.  187          Savior, like a Shepherd Lead Us

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (Unison)

Dear Lord, searcher of our hearts, You know us from the beginning. You see in us more good and beauty than we have dared believe. You beckon us to do more than we have dared to try. You call us to be light to others when we prefer to keep our light hidden. We have filled our ears with the sounds of the world. We have only timidly spoken of Your great love. We have doubted that there are gifts hidden within each of us. Lord, have mercy and forgive us. Amen

*KYRIE ELEISON

          Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy upon us.

Lord, have mercy upon us.  Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Leader:   Vast, boundless, constant, everlasting are but a few words that

attempt to describe the greatness of God’s love for us. God knows

all and still forgives and forgets all. Friends, believe the good news

of the Bible, in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

People:   Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another.
*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE    (Hymn No. 288)

    Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me;

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

Melt me, mold me, Fill me, use me.

Spirit of the living God, Fall afresh on me.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED

            I believe in God the Father Almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth.

            And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

    who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

    born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

    the third day he rose again from the dead;

     he ascended into heaven,

    and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

            I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

    the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;

    the resurrection of the body;

    and the life everlasting.  Amen
