QUIET MOMENT OF PREPARATION

CALL TO WORSHIP       (Psalm 67, Adapted)

Leader: May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine  upon us

People: That God’s way and saving power may be made known among     all the earth.

Leader: Let the peoples praise you, O God!

People: O God, let all the peoples praise you!

*Hymn No. 11                                   Source and Sovereign, Rock and Cloud

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION: (Unison)

Loving God, You have given us so many blessings in our lives. You have given us the beauty of creation in nature, the gift of your Son, the gift of community, and the gift of faith. Forgive us for the times we forget to be good stewards of the earth. Forgive us when we turn away from your love. Forgive us when we do not support one another in word and deed. Nurture your great garden of faith in each of us. Help us to abide in your love. May our faith reveal your goodness and grace to others. Amen.

*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Kyrie Eleison)

Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy upon us.

Lord, have mercy upon us. Amen

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Leader: The saying is sure and trustworthy, that Christ came to extend                      forgiveness so that we might live in the fullness of God’s grace.

People: Thanks be to God.

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE   (Hymn No. 468, vs. 1&3)

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*THE APOSTLES’ CREED

          I believe in God the Father Almighty,

   maker of heaven and earth.

           And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

   who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

   born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

   was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

   the third day he rose again from the dead;

     he ascended into heaven,

   and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

   from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

           I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

   the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;

   the resurrection of the body;

   and the life everlasting. Amen

A NOTE FROM OUR TREASURER:

As of September 30, 2015, the mortgage loan for the McSpadden Fellowship Hall has been retired!  Through generous donations, memorials, honorariums, and the proceeds from the two afternoon teas, the 2015 Loan Payment Challenge and the sale of Camille’s Easter Cross prints and note cards, we were able to pay off the loan. Just look what we, as a small church, have accomplished in such a short time. We are truly blessed.
