ENTERING GOD’S HOUSE

QUIET MOMENT OF PREPARATION

CALL TO WORSHIP                                                                      Psalm 100

Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.                          People: Worship the Lord with gladness.

Leader: Come into God’s presence with singing.

People: Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.

*HYMN No. 611                                               Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION: (Unison)

            God of grace, you created us in your image. From the beginning You promised to be our God for we are your people. Forgive us when we forget who we are and whose we are. We wander as sheep without a shepherd. We do not live with grateful hearts. We do not fully trust You to transform our lives. By the power of Holy Spirit turn our hearts back towards your faithfulness. Restore our gratitude in Your steadfast love. Amen.

*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (Kyrie Eleison)

Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy upon us.

Lord, have mercy upon us.  Amen

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Leader: Hear the good news of Jesus Christ. The Lord is good; his steadfast

love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

People: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

*RESPONSE TO GOD’S GRACE   (Hymn No. 468, vs. 1&3)

In my life, Lord, be glorified; be glorified.

In my life, Lord, be glorified today.

In your church, Lord, be glorified; be glorified.

In your church, Lord, be glorified today.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

            I believe in God the Father Almighty

               maker of heaven and earth.

            And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

    who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

 born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

    the third day he rose again from the dead;

     he ascended into heaven,

    and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

           I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

    the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;

    the resurrection of the body;

    and the life everlasting.  Amen
