LIGHTING OF THE ADVENT CANDLE                           The Moss Family

Leader: Listen to God’s word of Love.

I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to my servant David: ‘I will establish your descendants forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” (Psalm 89:1-4)

Leader:   New life is coming. All:        We can count it in days now. Leader:   God is breaking through. All:        God’s Word will change the world. Leader:   We will all be changed by the Language of Love. All:         The covenant has come down through the generations. Leader:   The love of God is never-ending. All:         We give thanks for God’s faithfulness. Leader:   Today we light the candle of Love. All:         We give thanks for God’s steadfast Love.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH      The Apostles’ Creed

 I believe in God the Father Almighty

                maker of heaven and earth.

            And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord;

    who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

    born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

    was crucified, dead and buried; he descended into hell;

    the third day he rose again from the dead;

     he ascended into heaven,

    and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

            I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

    the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins;

    the resurrection of the body;

    and the life everlasting. Amen.
